Welded Gabion Mesh is a rigid wire mesh system made from high-strength welded steel panels, designed for retaining walls, landscaping, and erosion control. With uniform openings and strong welded joints, it provides excellent structural stability and clean appearance. Available in galvanized or PVC-coated finishes, welded gabion baskets offer long service life, easy installation, and reliable performance for civil, commercial, and architectural projects worldwide. ...
Welded Gabion Mesh consists of rigid wire mesh baskets manufactured by electrically welding steel wires at each intersection. This construction creates a strong, dimensionally stable structure with clean lines and high load-bearing capacity. Made from low-carbon steel or stainless steel, welded gabions are widely applied in structural support, landscape architecture, protective systems, and erosion control projects where strength and precise shape are required.
Gabion Sizes
Welded gabion baskets are supplied in a wide range of standard dimensions to suit different regional and project requirements.
1.0 × 1.0 × 1.0 m
1.5 × 0.5 × 0.5 m
2.0 × 1.0 × 1.0 m
0.5 × 0.5 × 0.5 m (commonly used in Israel)
3′ × 3′ × 6′ and 3′ × 3′ × 4′ (North American standards)
Custom sizes can be produced upon request.
Mesh Opening and Wire Diameter
Mesh Shape: Square or rectangular
Standard Mesh Openings: 50 × 50 mm, 75 × 75 mm, 100 × 100 mm
Wire Diameters: 3.0 mm, 4.0 mm, 5.0 mm, 6.0 mm
Tensile Strength: Up to 770 N/mm²
This combination ensures excellent rigidity, uniform load distribution, and long-term structural stability.
Surface Coating Options
To enhance corrosion resistance and extend service life, welded gabion mesh is available with multiple surface treatments:
Hot-dip galvanizing
Electro-galvanizing
Galfan coating (95% zinc, 5% aluminum)
PVC or polyester coating in green, grey, or black
These coatings allow the gabions to perform reliably in outdoor, coastal, and industrial environments.
Materials
Hot-dip galvanized low-carbon steel wire
Galfan alloy-coated steel wire
Stainless steel wire (Grade 304 or 316)
Alu-zinc alloy coated steel wire
Material selection can be adjusted according to structural demands and environmental conditions.
Applications
Retaining wall systems for soil stabilization
Building facades and architectural cladding
Noise barriers and highway protection walls
Riverbank reinforcement and flood erosion control
Military defense structures and perimeter security
Decorative garden walls, partitions, and planters
Modular fencing filled with stone or sand
Standards and Compliance
Welded Gabion Mesh is manufactured in accordance with international standards:
EN 10218 / EN 10223 / EN 10244 / EN 10245
ASTM A185 / A641 / A975
Products can be supplied with CE certification and optional geotextile liners when required by the project.
Packing
Welded gabion panels are delivered flat-packed to minimize transport volume. Each set includes spiral binders, clips, or lacing wires for efficient on-site assembly. Optional accessories such as geotextile liners, internal diaphragms, and pre-installed stiffeners are available to enhance structural performance during stone filling.
